I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
