There's little doubt why Arsenal have become many people's favorites to secure the Premier League in the current campaign.

Examine their performances against Fulham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them in the current season, but dropped 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race previously.

Defensive Dominance

Arsenal's defensive strength is a primary factor why they are appearing strong to ultimately achieve their title goal.

They rank top for shutouts (6), goals conceded (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their danger from dead balls is highly documented, but competing clubs still struggle to neutralize the Gunners from these situations.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Claims

What is particularly impressive about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City on home turf - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having spent around £250m on eight summer additions in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the business has so far paid off in remarkable manner, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Unbreached games in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and experts have described Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now operating with confidence and resolve.
