Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state preliminary tests show the substance was probably human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.
City officials said they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.
A high-ranking representative commented the attack left him without words and needed to be addressed quickly.
"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the killing of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
